2. Data we collect and purposes

a) Purchase management

When you purchase a guide, we process your email address to:

  • Verify payment and grant access to the purchased content.
  • Send you your access link (magic link).
  • Handle support requests or issues.

Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6.1.b GDPR).

b) Marketing communications

If you explicitly consent, we may send you information about new destinations, guide updates or other Far Guides news.

Legal basis: consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to info@farguides.com.

c) Analytics and service improvement

If you allow it, we process browsing and usage data through Google Analytics 4 to analyse Site performance and improve our guides and purchase journey.

d) Campaign measurement and enhanced conversions

If you allow it, we use Google Ads to attribute visits and purchases to campaigns. On purchase, we may send Google the normalised email hashed with SHA-256, together with the value, currency and transaction identifier, to improve measurement. The email is not sent in plain text through this feature.

3. Recipients of your data

Your data may be shared with the following service providers, who act as data processors under a confidentiality agreement:

  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing (privacy policy at stripe.com).
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (magic links).
  • Vercel Inc. — website hosting.
  • Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC — analytics, advertising measurement and conversion attribution, only according to your choices.

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for purposes other than those described above.

4. International transfers

Some providers (Stripe, Vercel and Google) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Their applicable safeguards may include adequacy decisions, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

5. Data retention

  • Guide access data: for the duration of the contracted access and thereafter for the time required to address claims or comply with legal obligations (up to 5 years for commercial and tax obligations).
  • Marketing communications: until you withdraw your consent.
  • Privacy preferences: until you change them or clear browser data.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: know what data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: request deletion of your data when it is no longer necessary.
  • Restriction: limit processing in certain circumstances.
  • Portability: receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interest.

To exercise these rights, write to info@farguides.com with a copy of your identity document. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or the supervisory authority in your country of residence.

7. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration, including HTTPS encryption, signed JWT authentication and secure credential storage.

8. Minors

Our services are intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe we have processed a minor's data, please contact us so we can delete it.
